Theological Science* and the U.S. Declaration of Independence
The first authority defines the general structure of the ‘one people.’ In the U.S. Constitution, the ‘one people’ was identified as the ‘Union.’ The ‘one people’ became known as the ‘Society’ because it is the first party in the social contract theory of England’s John Locke. Our founders chose this social contract over all other theories at their time. The second party in Locke’s theory is called ‘Government.’ In 1776, ‘Government’ was defined as the Second Continental Congress. Eventually, ‘Government’ was defined in much more detail by the U.S. Constitution. So, the USA had two social contract components in 1776. These components are Society and Government.
The second authority gave the ‘one people’ the right to go to war if England goes to war against the ‘one people.’ So, ‘the people’ defended themselves against England but only after England started the Revolutionary War.
Clearly, the ‘one people’ or Union is a social nation formed of many people. In such a nation, wealth must be shared in rational ways that will produce continuous growth and progress of the nation. So, the redistribution of the wealth of the top 5% of the U.S. citizens proposed by Barack Obama/Joe Biden is rational and follows the founding principles of the USA. On redistribution, Obama and Biden seem to be following the earlier efforts of the anti Federalists and President John Adams. I do not believe that John McCain and Sarah Palin understand the founding of the USA.
It is also clear that ‘the people’ (or Union) has sovereignty. This is why the Declaration of Independence cannot be amended whereas the Constitution can be amended.
* Theological science unifies scientific thoughts with people’s thoughts about God.
