381.Only Negative Theology Will Take Us Into The Future
In this chapter, Cusa says that every religion, in its worshipping, must mount upwardly by means of affirmative theology. But Cusa says that negative theology is also necessary. If you return to the click and turn backward to Chapter Twenty four, 'The name of God: affirmation theology and Chapter-five: The pagans named God in various ways in relation to created things some affirmations of God's names are presented.
I conclude that negatives of theology were originated by Plato after Socrates was put to death by the Sophists, who were earning money by selling knowledge. But Socrates told Athens students that he knows only that he does not know.
Plato’s negatives are found in his Sophist dialogue (at 357b). There, Plato says, When we speak of ‘that which is not,’ it seems that we do not mean something contrary to what exists, but only something that is different.’ These negatives separate Plato from Aristotle’s logic. With Plato’s negatives, one can find new attributes of God. Plato's negatives can lead a person into spiritualism. With logic, a person will usually fall into materialism and atheism.
To not search for negative theories and to accept only on teachings of today's religions and scriptures is unnatural. At Matt. 5:19, Jesus told all readers this message..
