Unifying Capitalism and Socialism Functionally

Capitalism has many meanings. (click) I accept the following meaning: an economic system in which wealth, and the means of producing wealth, are privately owned. Today, capitalism is better known as free enterprise or free market economy. Henry Carey, an economic consultant to Abe Lincoln, spoke of capitalism as the British System of Economics.

Socialism also has many definitions. (click) Since none of these meanings fit my unification of science and theology, I add to this list of definitions the following meaning: socialism is all of the infrastructures that man has produced for a more perfect life for all. This meaning thus distinguishes the physical world and the spiritual world.

To me, capitalism and socialism are functionally related and thus work together in order to form a more perfect Union, as the Preamble of the Constitution requires.

In his book on "The Unity of Law," Carey says that capitalism alone subjects the human mind to matter and subjugates labor to capital. This might have been true if capitalism was an absolute term at his time. Carey favored the American System of Economics because it has moral, opens man's mind to God'' creations, and prevents the development of brutish human behaviors and a class of poor people.

Following the assassination of Lincoln, capitalism became an absolute term primarily because a large amount of capital had been accumulated by a small number of people. However, with WWII and the space program, many new infrastructures for life appeared nationally. Unfortunately, three fields of thought could destroy the necessary relations between capitalism and socialism because they reject God and view life as something physical rather than spiritual. These three fields are as follows: (1) materialism, (2 ) evolution, and (3) atheism.'

George your comments are well stated. Few will understand your words, very few. Capitalism is ingrained into the American mentality. Brainwashing works and the have mores have done a brilliant job of convincing Americans that capitalism is sacred. They have even been able to make capitalism an principle and ideal of Christianity. Man that’s good PR.

The purer the form of capitalism the more wealth accumulated by the fewest people. Americans have this lesson to learn. After world war two and the great depression it was regulations and unions and of course we won the war and were not bombed out like the rest of the industrialized world so we accumulated much wealth and created a large middle class.

Now as these regulations were dismantled one by one then Reagan put capitalism on steroids then the wealth became accumulated by the very few. Today on talk radio I heard someone say that Reagan was the greatest president ever. If we look close we will see when the decline of America hit high gear and massive borrowing began. I.e. with Reagan.

The decline was occurring but free market strategies sped up the process of decline. It appears there needs to be a balance between socialism and capitalism at this time to maintain a large middle class. A large middle class is critical to have a stable society.

America is and has been a country in decline for many reasons. One of those reasons is the underlying reality of capitalism is based on Darwinism principles. One of my interests is that the human mind can want more of the same even as a system self-destructs. Paradigms are so powerful that in spite of the evidence of self-destruction we want more of the same.

The good news these are lessons Americans will learn. Yes the hard way but that is how we learn most of our lessons in life through suffering. There are two ways to learn one being through suffering and the other through wisdom. History reveals to us that most of the world has chosen suffering.

Banks, insurance companies, wall street, big three autos, are living proof of what happens without regulations. Capitalism can become so evil that the population thinks it is perfectly moral to make mega sums of profits and bonuses off the sick and needy. One CEO made 700 million in five years of the sick and needy figuring out ways to keep from paying medical expenses from those in need. Preexisting conditions, etc.

This is how immoral this country has become. We are the only industrialized country that considers medical insurance a privilege rather than a right like police protection and fire protection. Communism did not bring down America as Americans feared but their own capitalism has brought America to its economic knees.

    Response to Anonymous,

I am trying to to open the minds of Americans by teaching them the ugliness about the English language. Our English language is filled wirh absolutes such as capitalism. And our English is also filled with the logic of Aristotle.

Logical reasoning is closing the minds of our people with the result that more people are becomin atheists. These people cannot use dialectical thinking, which can unify opposing concepts such as capitalism and socialism. The U.S. language problems is great because our colleges and universities do not teach dialectical thinking. When I I write about Hegel's dialectical thoughts, Ametricans charge me with Marxism and communism.

The world rancking of Americans in reading, science, and mathematics are falling fast.

It appears from the evidence George that America is declining fast for several reasons. One being of course education. This is the ebb and flow of things I suspect in the universe. We have become a very self centered and self-righteous country and what would it say about the universe or God if those traits made a country successful?

It appears that spiritual or universal laws or principles apply to all including nations. History has taught us that. We with our age have had the opportunity of watching a country achieve great things and wealth and then watch that very same country bring about its own decline. That can be a great lesson in our lives and the lives of others. Soul lessons if you will. Wealth can be as harsh of a teacher as poverty, maybe more harsh of a teacher.

I think that maybe atheism is not a turning away from God but a turning away from man made religious beliefs that do not pass the simplest of logic tests. In time I think atheism will be one of the paths to greater spiritual awareness. Maybe materialism has to run it course so to speak. The ways of the universe and attainment of knowledge are not always on our human timetable. Time does not seem to be a great concern to God as the Absolute.

Capitalism can be a great teacher as an example of what does not work and for what reasons it does not work. It appears that the Christian fundamentalists are the greatest advocates of capitalism. That fact alone can create a lot of atheists.

Mega profits and bonuses for the few from the sick and needy and supported by people that claim to be followers of Jesus. The hypocrisy of that reality alone is an interesting phenomenon.

You are right on target. I expect to expoand my thoughts tomorrow on the flaws in capitalism and its inconsistency with the founding documents on the subject of 'a nation under God.'
