Theological Science* and Refining the Democratic and Republican Parties, II

Yesterday, the president and vice-president candidates, John McCain and Sarah Palin, charged Barack Obama with socialism. McCain and Palin said that ‘Joe the Plumber’ also said that Obama was moving into socialism. This charge shows that McCain, Palin, and Joe the Plumber are not up-to-date on the development of political science.

According to Bill Clinton, he and England’s Tony Blair were working together on the unification of democracy and socialism. They spoke of this unification as the Third Way. I assume that they viewed democracy and socialism as ‘thesis’ and ‘antithesis’ and sought their synthesis, the Third Way. Today, the term synthesis has become known by Hegel and Marx as ‘development.’ The three terms are generalized today with the terms--- beginning, middle, and end and are often modeled by a circle in where the circumference is the middle term. Unfortunately, Clinton and Blair were unable to identify the synthesis. Below, I identify the synthesis.

The modernization of political science has been impeded by our lawyers who say that the Declaration of Independence contains only one authority --- to go to war against England. However. I conclude that the first two paragraphs of the Declaration of Independence identify a second authority. This second authority is confirmed in John Locke’s social contract theory, which requires two parties to create a contract. Locke calls one party ‘Society’ and the other party ‘Government.’

The founders were thus correct to define Society in the first two paragraphs of the Declaration of Independence. Once Society was defined in the Declaration of Independence, the founders defined Government in the Constitution. So, the Declaration of Independence is the highest law in the body of U.S. laws.

The founders unified the terms, Society and Government, by transferring some natural human rights to the Government in exchange for securing Society. Further, the founders say that these natural human rights are not arbitrary. They say that these rights originate in God and exist in our world as two laws --- Laws of Nature and Nature’s God. The Laws of Nature are found by science and the Laws of Nature’s God are found by moralists, who are the people.

So the unification of democracy and socialism can be defined only by the two laws that our founders included in the Declaration of Independence. Accordingly, people are correct to say that ‘ man is freed by laws.’

Thus, it is normal for the people of a new democracy to begin with very few social needs. Farming is thus a major activity in a new democracy. However, as a democracy ages, togetherness must increase because human activities become increasingly functional.

Democracy and socialism begin and end together. The middle region of these extremes is development or the Third Way as Clinton and Blair say. The middle region (or developments) is filled continually with new scientific and moral laws. These filler laws will never be completed because our world was created by an infinite God. Obviously, life continues forever unless God ends it.

* Theological science unifies scientific thoughts with people’s thoughts about God.
