Only One Scripture is Needed to Express the Understandings of God and His Universe

In the New Testament at Chapter 1 of St John, John says, 'In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.'  Since God is one and infinite, this Word and God must be pure.

Man cannot know a pure Word or a pure God.  So, we must recognize that we are only images of this Word and God and must understand God (1) by creating symbols; (2) by giving meanings to symbols; and (3) by making statements about God with these symbols. Instead of understanding God, religions say that their scriptures are the 'words of God.'   I cannot agree with these religions.

The Old Testament, the New Testament, and the Qur'an are being questioned more and more by believers and scientists throughout the world.  At the same time, many free nations are beginning to define and develop similar democracies. So, it is time for all religions to talk.  Since there is only one God, only a single scripture is needed to express man's new understandings of God and His Universe. As democracies  grow, such a single scripture will likely grow into a long world peace.
