Natural Rights, VIII

Leo Strauss was born in 1899, the same year my father was born. Strauss died in 1973. My father died in 1979, the year that Minnesota University, Professor Jasper Hopkins published his first translation into English the important 15th century works of Nicholas of Cusa. (click) Although Cusa's work is not cited in Strauss' book on 'Natural Right and History,' the thoughts of Strauss are aligned to the most important thoughts of Cusa --- all opposites are coincident in God. Just as Cusa's thoughts on opposites ended the Middle Ages, as historians say, when Strauss discussed the justice concepts 'just' and 'unjust' on page 93, he says that the first cause, God, 'is beyond good and evil and even beyond good and bad.' Like Cusa, Strauss' first thing (God) unifies all opposites.

In more detail, Strauss says, 'God is not concerned with justice in any sense that is relevant to human life as such: God does not reward justice and punish injustice. Justice has no superhuman support. Thus, if Cusa, Strauss, and my writings are correct, today's religious leaders are teaching scriptures that are man-made and are not the words, or a concern, of God. The concern of God is expressed in God's Intelligent Design and the things God made. The concerns of God are found by us, as St. Paul said in Rom. 1:20.

So, human life, anywhere on this planet, is not what our politicians and religions are selling. What they should be selling is long term goals because God and the universe have no end. Since all indivisible things are not perishable and our souls are indivisible things, a new life of every person exists after their death. As one can see, the removal of the Declaration of Independence from the body of U.S. laws by the U.S. Supreme Court has ruined the USA. This removal has allowed the power of atheism to grow and the godless USA to expand by mathematicians, materialists, and evolutionists.
