476. Bringing Finite and Infinite Things Together Under God
Today, the symbol 'infinite' is being determined by the fields of science and religions. However, these fields are not coming together because God, the universe, and the human mind are being defined differently by them. So, I want to bring these two fields together..
For example, mathematicians believe that infinite is a concept that describes something without any limit. Major religions believe that God is infinite.(click) But, atheists or pantheistic's believe that God died when he created the universe. Physical scientists and naturalists believe that the human mind evolved whereas major religions believe that the human mind was created by God.
Before the Middle Ages came to the end in the 15th century, Saint Thomas Aquinas (1225-1274) spoke about the concept of infinite. He said that although God's power is unlimited, God cannot make an absolutely unlimited thing, no more than he can make an unmade thing, for this involves contradictories being true together. Clearly, the mind of Aquinas was developed by the logic of Aristotle. But, in his Sophist at 257b Plato says, When we speak of ‘that which is not,’ it seems that we do not mean something contrary to what exists but only something that is different.
Since we learned that all things in the universe are finite, we can follow Plato's words above and say that a not-finite, infinite, or different thing could exist and caused the existence of all finite things in the universe. Atheists are saying that the not-finite, infinite, or different thing is the Big Bang thing. But godly persons are saying that the not-finite, infinite, or different thing is God.
According to atheists, the Big Bang thing cannot be defined. But, I say that God can be defined with knowledge of God's act of the universe by accepting the coexistent of all finite things and an infinite God, who is the highest thing that unites all different finite things.
When Pope Benedict XVI became the leader of the catholic church, he said that he would investigate the infinite of God. Although I haven't found his investigation, I don't believe that his investigation was necessary because my books below shown that God is infinite. and has many other coexistent attributes.
